Stefano has spent over a decade on the ATP and WTA Professional Tennis Tours. He has worked as a private physiotherapist to top-ranked tennis players including Dominic Thiem (Austria), Denis Shapovalov (Canada), Dominika Cibulkova (Slovakia), and Reilly Opelka (USA), delivering personalized treatment plans and injury-prevention strategies on the international stage. Stefano has provided world-class physiotherapy, performance management, and court-side support during Grand Slams, and Masters 1000 tournaments including Wimbledon, the US Open, French Open and the Australian Open.
Stefano has also worked as team physiotherapist for the Austria and Canada Davis Cup national tennis teams, supporting athletes through the intensity of international team competition.
Earlier in his career, Stefano led physiotherapy and athletic development at the Günter Bresnik Tennis Academy in Vienna, Austria, one of Europe’s most respected high-performance tennis training centres.
Stefano also brings unique expertise from the highest level of professional sailing, having served as Head Physiotherapist for Italian America’s Cup Team Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli during both the Auckland (36th) and Barcelona (37th) America’s Cup campaigns.
In this role, he managed the physical preparation, injury prevention, and recovery systems for the sailing team, with the ultimate goal of keeping high-performance athletes healthy during intense, multi-year campaigns. Working closely with performance coaches, strength specialists, and the Ferrari F1 medical team, his work extended beyond treatment to include the development of integrated protocols for load management, tissue conditioning, and rapid recovery as well as on-water emergency management.
Stefano has also worked for the Rolex SailGP and individually with elite sailors including Ruggero Tita, Olympic gold medalist at Tokyo and Paris, supporting both his Olympic preparation and conditioning for sport longevity.
